The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPRPB) was established by a government order on 2/12/2008 with the objective of conducting transparent and efficient selection processes for the recruitment of various non-gazetted positions in the UP Police. The board is also tasked with ensuring a smooth promotion process within specified time frames while adhering strictly to relevant rules and regulations.
Heading and overseeing all activities of the board is the Director General/Chairman, supported by two Additional Director Generals (ADGs). One ADG serves as a Member, while the other functions as the Secretary. The organizational structure includes officials such as Superintendent of Police, Joint Secretary (Finance), Additional Superintendents of Police, Deputy Superintendents of Police, and various non-gazetted positions.
In 2023, the UP Police introduced new vacancies, and the DG/Chairman, along with the ADGs, continues to lead the board’s operations. To further enhance decision-making, a group of part-time professionals has been assembled, providing invaluable advice as needed. The board remains committed to conducting recruitment and promotion processes with integrity and efficiency, following established rules and guidelines.
